We work closely with small business owners to collaboratively redesign their storefront.
Our goal is to support small business owners who identify as women, immigrants, black, or people of color in communicating their business vision to the community, while enhancing the visibility of services offered.
Over more than a decade we’ve supported 50+ small business owners with pro bono services spanning design, permitting, and construction. We’ve worked in Watts, Wilmington, Macarthur Park, and Arlington Heights.
Our design support focuses on capacity building through technical assistance, and enhancing a visual narrative reflective of the values and needs of the business owner. Our list of services includes: interior/exterior design, documentation & permitting, construction administration, branding, and marketing.
Our diverse partners range from city council districts, city agencies, nonprofit groups, business development organizations, local contractors and craftspeople.
We aim to holistically support business owners so they can see themselves reflected in the communities they anchor!
Storefronts LA! was also selected—among many incredible design peers—to be part of the 2025 USA Pavilion at the 19th Venice Biennale!
