Storefronts, LA

Our small business support work has been evolving for over 7 years now, all of which has been building to the development of our program called Storefronts, LA.

Storefronts, LA is a small business support program where we work closely with small business owners to collaboratively design/redesign their storefront.

Our goal is to support small business owners who identify as women, immigrants, black, or people of color communicate their business vision to the community, while enhancing the visibility of services offered.

We’ve provided low-cost, high impact storefront and interior design projects with over 30 businesses including corner stores, upholstery, restaurants, martial arts studios, thrift stores, and more. We’ve worked in Watts, Wilmington, Macarthur Park, and Arlington Heights. Our partners provide foundational financial and technical assistance that is key to helping business owners gain long-term operational sustainability.

Our design support focuses on capacity building through technical assistance, and enhancing a visual narrative reflective of the values and needs of the business owner. Our list of services includes: interior/exterior design, documentation & permitting, construction administration, branding, and marketing.

In addition to the dedicated service to each business owner, we are currently building out the research/policy framework of the program to address the neighborhood-scale impact of the program.
