We supported the City of Long Beach’s Co-Lab initiative by facilitating a multi-stage, community-driven process.
We facilitated the City of Long Beach’s Co-Lab initiative, a two-year opportunity for City staff and community leaders to identify and co-design technology solutions to neighborhood challenges.
This included support through the project’s four stages— Discover, Define, Develop, + Deliver — including meetings, interviews, workshops, and technical assistance. We held three workshops in 2025 guiding participants from early research through identifying and refining neighborhood challenges. We facilitated the presentation of potential solutions to the Long Beach community with a Community Demo Day, which attracted nearly 200 attendees and where over 80 community members provided feedback on vendor proposals!
Our next steps include pilot pre-planning which structures the implementation of the technology solutions, including user research and success metrics development. In 2026 we are continuing to host more workshops to achieve these goals and kick-off a year-long pilot of the three chosen neighborhood innovations.
